Shrimp Light Review

2014 & 2015 AWARD Winning MacDaddy LED Shrimping Light

MacDaddy Shrimp Light

MacDaddy Shrimp Light

The highest tech shrimp light on the market. This light came on the market in Feb 2013, and changed the sport by giving us several different light modes built into a single shrimp light. The consumers embraced this LED hybrid shrimp light and this shrimp light set the bar with features that resulted in higher pulls. Bottom line, this shrimp light went viral among anglers.

This was the first hybrid shrimp light which gave you 3 light modes (all white, all green or fire off the green and white LED’s at the same time). First light to be constructed giving us 3 battery terminal clips (2 positives, 1 negative).

“In my opinion….Avoid Gator Tough and Ledgreenie™, they allegedly imitated the MacDaddy light offering an inferior green and/or white double strip lamp (lower power)” says Pro Angler, Capt Lee Noga. We had an engineer test the MacDaddy line, Gator Tough and LEDGreenie™, click link below to see results. Look at what they advertise as their watts and look at what the testing showed at their battery clips.

Lumens are in direct proportion to watts, the more watts the more lumens. The more lumens = the more light.

We tested ALL models of the MacDaddy two colored light against the 2 other companies that released their two color light to the consumer copying MacDaddy features. Look at what they advertised, and look how the light tested out using a voltmeter at the battery clips compared to the innovating MacDaddy LED Pro Series.

We invite all consumers and any light builder including GatorTough and LEDGreenie to run voltage tests on our products and theirs which we purchased from their vendors. Numbers do NOT lie, please look at the testing results. We have their lights at Oak Hill Flea market on Sundays for consumers to test.

Want To See MacDaddy Hybrid 2 color Light Field?

See the hybrid light field and this light is the smallest in the hybrid product line GW 60/60 which is 60 green and 60 white dual strip LED. You get 3 lights in one.  The next size up is the GW 75/75. The biggest MacDaddy is the high output 47 watt, 3000 lumen green and white light not measured in the number of LED’s since these chips are different. See the short video which shows you a a MacDaddy shrimp light on turbo. Want a stronger green/white light? We got em’.

The Facts:

The MacDaddy shrimping light™ watt outputs are as advertised at the battery clip ends. The MacDaddy shrimp light was engineered to compensate for the watts lost traveling down the 33 ft cord loss and balance out to NO watts loss at the terminal ends to your battery. The other lights on the market lose 1.5+ watts per strip. Why? Stock inventory LED purchases running down 40 foot cords. The MacDaddy LED strips are custom made to the specs of the MacDaddy LED electrical  engineer and are not available to consumers to purchase.

Anyone can build an LED shrimp light being sold for $130 and up, but nobody can build a MacDaddy shrimp light due to the unique custom LED strip engineered specifications. This is what separates this shrimp light from all others trying to cash in and this is why this light is in high demand through out the State of Florida.

Why does LED have advantages?

  • Battery friendly
  • No bulb to break
  • Rated for tens of thousands of hours of illumination
  • Manipulate/herding shrimp into your nets using light (winter shrimp hate light)
  • Rugged and able to with stand impacts when deployed
  • We can quantify the physics into teachable educational deployment techniques

The LED shrimp light was game changing when we could use physics and and take a fact “shrimp hate light” and use light to manipulate the shrimp. As we dialed into the perfect technique, we have shared the “How To’s” with thousands of anglers so that they can go home with their lion share of the shrimp. Capt Lee went on tour all through Central Florida teaching how to get the highest harvest using the science & physics behind LED spiral designed lights.

Bottom Light Compact

Bottom Light Compact

The LEDgreenie light (larger one in photo to the right) dominated the market as the King of lights from March 2010 – Feb 2013.

The LEDGreenie light over 3 years did not evolve after the initial launch in 2010, the innovation and advancement of this shrimp light technology went stale. Single 60 led 14.4 watt light.

Feb 2013 LumaSea introduced the 2nd generation of shrimp lights known as the MacDaddy series, a series of 4 products to choose from.

The picture is meant to show you how slim and compact the MacDaddy light was compared to the first generation LED light LEDGreenie.  MacDaddy line being more compact with perfect balance of  buoyancy and visibility. We do NOT sell a 14.4 watt light.

The emergence of the MacDaddy shrimp light in Feb 2013 caused the LEDGreenie builder to discontinue their old flagship “one trick pony” green light as seen in the MacDaddy™comparison photo above to the right. They went on to study the MacDaddy light and adopt the MacDaddy as their model for their new product line which has disappointed the industry. We expected them to innovate and not imitate. This is nothing more than an effort to cash in on shrimp fever bringing no originality to the next generation light but wanting a piece of the MacDaddy shrimp light fever

LumaSea invited LEDGreenie™ to test their imitation MacDaddy shrimp light in front of Capt Lee’s annual shrimp website BBQ and seminar Jan 4th, 2014. LumaSea attended the event for the consumer to test their products and see their shrimp lights output as advertised. LEDGreenie did not show up.

MacDaddy Shrimp Light Award

MacDaddy Shrimp Light Award

2014 & 2015 Award winning MacDaddy shrimp lights is the new generation shrimp light which will continue to evolve to give us the advantage. Competition is good for the consumer. The MacDaddy shrimp light stepped up and evolved the single function 60 LED green 14.4 watt shrimp light into a multi mode shrimp light (3 light modes). The consumers no longer wanted a single mode light, and LumaSea went into the history books bringing the first hybrid shrimp light to the market.
