Haulover Canal is wind driven and will either flow POSITIVE (from 
Indian River to Mosquito Lagoon)or will flow NEGATIVE (from Mosquito Lagoon To Indian River).
During the winter shrimping season, the POSITIVE flow is preferred to capture the larger shrimp landlocked in Indian river. Sometimes the flow is to strong and it is not recommended you go.
Monitor the Haulover Canal Flow Data and choose TABLE. Scroll down and look at the 4 digit number. If you see the letter P, the number is POSITIVE. Any value over 4000 is considered to be the cut off point to take on the canal.
