The Shrimping frame net have had a constitutional law come into play in 2015. We used to make these shrimping frame nets out of mono-filament. The mono material has been outlawed and we were given the option of making these nets out of either cotton, nylon, linen or polypropylene.
Capt Lee Noga believes nylon is the best alternative to mono. Currently, we no longer can source an artisian that can build them so they can be affordable. So we have stopped offering them.
Capt Lee Noga is not a fan of the heavy green polypropylene. Ever since the mono frame nets were deemed illegal, the frame nets have not performed well with the legal materials the law allows. Capt Lee no longer uses a frame net and relies more on her MacDaddy lights/dipping net to get her 5 gallons in under an hour or two.
You can buy poly green frame nets at the Oak Hill Flea Market if you really want one. Call Ron O’Brian typically he does not have gear made unless you have ordered it for pickup . Call before going to Flea Market.
