I just thought I would post a couple of before and after pictures. These are the first shrimp I have ever caught, cleaned and cooked. They were caught at the Titusville bridge and were good. I am a sautee' girl after de-shelling and de-veining. What is the secret to boiling? What do ya put in the water, Old Bay? Boil for a couple of minutes? Posts: 533 05/20/10 01:53 PM	Well ...you all know most of my secrets so I may as well just tell everything. http://www.zatarains.com/Recipes/Boiled-Seafood.aspx I use this for shrimp and crabs. Add a little vinegar with the shrimp boil. For a small load just cut open the bag and use a smaller amount. Then strain out the shrimp when done. Shrimp cook very quickly so don't leave them in too long. Best regards, Frankk

I gave a bag to my little brother last week when he came in town. Now you have to know that my dip nets and frame net are actually his that I basically took over or inherited from him years ago when we used to go shrimping together. He quit shrimping and let me keep the gear. My brother's fiance is from Ireland and she said that my shrimp were the best she has ever tasted. She offered to buy everything I had in my freezer! I politely declined her offer and said I could feed them again one day. My neighbor asked about using them for bait and I proceeded to scold him and give him a what for! We are so lucky to live where we do.

Captain's Mate Posts: 870 05/22/10 08:58 PM	I have eaten a lot of shrimp but none taste better than those you catch yourself! I got two gallons a couple weeks ago and it took me two weeks to eat them. I kept a bowl of cooked shrimp in the fridge so I could just dip in any time of day or night! I prefer them just boiled and eaten cold with cocktail sauce. Very hot cocktail sauce! After cooking the shrimp try dipping them in butter while still hot. For an added treat and after the butter dip them in Old Bay or JO spice. Very good! JB's sell his own "Jungle Juice" if you like to spice them up a bit. Then there is also fried, creole, gumbo, jumbalaya, etoufee, po boy, stuffed, soup.............. I do like shrimp! Last Edited By: bogman102 05/22/10 09:06 PM. Edited 1 time.

Shrimp snacks are hard to beat, I do the same thing only I gotta get'em before my wife does and fortunately my 2 boys haven't developed a taste for them yet!! Craig
