After seeing how some of you show off your catch (in a bucket or cooler with no ice) I just had to post this. If the man
wants to dig'em out of the icy water let him.
Get'em in a cooler.
As the nights get warmer either ice'em or throw'em out.
Here is the best way to keep'em sweet
Learned this trick from an oldtimmer
Put some ice on the bottom of your cooler then the shrimp now fill it up with ice.
now take your bucket and fill it with the river water (NOT FROM THE RAMP)
pour it in your cooler of shrimp. the salt water drops the temperature below freezing.
Let me repeat what i said NO RAMP WATER unless you like your shrimp oil & gas
flavored.
We use this trick offshore too the fish are so cold they hurt your hands when cleaning
them. But its worth it.
When you get home drain the water out i don't like to leave them soak in the water.
put some more ice on top, the salt water melts most of the ice.
See ya
