After witnessing 1st hand the performance of shrimping with an LED51, I feel the 51 is better suited for this
application. It provides a 5-6 foot circumference of bright green lite with an additional 4-5 feet of muted green
beyond that, still enough lite to see the shrimp that are coming thru on the outer edges. In relation to what I saw
at the pier the other nite I did make one suggestion that he should set the light deeper in the water. He started out
with it down about 2 feet and was getting few shrimp, as soon as he dropped it to about 4feet down the jumbos
started popping up above the lite, I think they were going deep before this rather than come closer to the surface.
If the plan is primarily shrimping, with a little fishing thrown in the mix, the 51 is the way to go to me. If the plan is
to add some backlighting to fish under, I think the 15 would work just fine, it provides a more muted green with
a circumference of 3-4ft with an additional 2-3ft beyond that of very dim lite. I don't know, but this may be
a little less intimidating to our nocturnal friends who like to feed at nite. Nite Owl, I hope this info. helps,
if you have any questions, fire away. Wishing you some good R&R
