I haven't seen any new shrimp recipe's in a while, so I thought I would share my favorite way to enjoy them. I typically pull the largest shrimp from my most recent catch, and enjoy them this way:
Step 1- Head shrimp.
Step 2- Using a sharp serrated knife, split the shrimp, making a point not to break the back of the shell, but at the same time, using the serration of the knife to perforate the shell.
Step 3- Open the shrimp so that they lay flat on a baking pan. If you have cut them properly, the shell will stay together, and still lay flat and open.
Step 4- Season to taste. My preference is basted in butter, a dash of garlic salt, and a dash of pepper.
Step 5- Turn on oven broiler to 475, and place them on a middle oven rack, not too close to the broiler for 5-8 minutes based on the shrimp size. You can tell when they are done, as they will start to curl up a little.
Step 6- Enjoy. They can be a little messy to eat, but are well worth the effort. Use a fork to pull them out of their shell, and scarf em' down. Be careful, they are addictive.

rence is basted in butter,
