has anyone thoght of using their long line clips to attach the box net to their vessel? im gonna give it a whirl . i have the rigid box net so i know it will work for me. i also installed bimini hold downs on the gunnel for my clips to attach to the boat. oneday ill be able to get me one of those collapsable frame nets that mr. obrien makes. along with 1-2 more of the led greenies. just some could use a small tip for easily attaching the box net to your boat, if you havent already thought of it.

That clip you got in the pic is strong. This is the one I have been using at H/C and is technically called a 5 inch branch hanger. The true long line clip of the same size does not have the power of this clip. The steel is tempered unlike the SS long line clip of the same size..
My two cents. You just got to go to know, crap another Jumbo just went under the boat. |

Good ideal but I'd worry about, not the long liner clip, but the metal breaking on the bimini tie down when you got a couple gallons of shrimp and a trillion jellies in the frame net.

Hey Mike you might consider doing what I did with my frame net. I had no storage for it so I cut the 2 side pieces of PVC and replaced then with nylon rope I threaded through the netting and viola collapsable frame net. Drilled a hole in the top and bottom corner and tied them off. The bottom of my frame net came with a piece of rebar in it and that seems to hold it in the water pretty well. Good luck.

Hi Mike,
Those fasteners are called "pad eyes". They come in different sizes and strengths. I would use a larger size. (we have very strong currents at Sebastian) Make sure it is stainless steel and not chrome over brass. Best regards, Frankk |
