Posts: 1138 02/02/12 12:31 AM Captain USCG Licensed NEW SMYRNA - 11 Limits 2011	Tags : None this is a little something extra for the night of 2-11-12 after the seminar . this tournament is not limited to boats only , it also applies to bank shrimpers, pier shrimpers, dock shrimpers as well. not limited to just oak hill , it can be anywhere cocoa , titusville , new smyrna, edgewater. you must be present to win and must be at the riverbreeze ramp at or before the end of the tournament. prizes will be determined and announced within the next day or so. THIS ANOTHER FREE TOURNAMENT. hasnt yet been decided on the how we are going to decide the winners,( smallest , largest , most , least amount of shrimp, heavest weight) these are items we are still trying to iron out. from what i hear the prizes will be mind numbing to say the least. maybe some of the members might want to get a side pot together , if so you can choose you bet and it WILL be 100% to a single winner on the spot at the end of the tourney. keep checking back for updates as i/we get them. to all entrants , GOOD LUCK FROM THE TEAM AT LEENOGA.COM UPDATE: Tourney Time Dark to 11:30pm. Weigh in 11:30pm, you have. Tide changes about 5pm and starts to go out.. 1st Place - Total Boat weight [must have 2 or more dippers on boat] Prize: Custom made mirror 3-D shrimp license plate for all dippers & LEDGreenie.com Pro Light [one only for boat owner]. 1st Place - Single Dipper/Boater Total Weight [must only have 1 dipper on the boat]. License plate & free shrimp charter with Capt. Mike Morris [AKA Rogue17]. The charter is for a full tide in Oak Hill. Hands on education for an entire tide on his vessel. You decide when to book it. Side Pot: $5 [Will be decided at weigh in, could be largest shrimp or smallest shrimp, find out at weigh in]. WINNER takes all the cash. Tourney Attendance Prize: Every tourney participant gets a raffle ticket for free for signing up, must be present to win at weigh in, you get a $50 Visa ...most important, the graphic under your name. Sea Worthy Posts: 156 02/02/12 09:43 AM	Just saying. We are planning a tournament on the 11th. Well ISAA is also planning a tournament on the 11th. There will be a lot of boats at RB. I know the 11th is a full moon. But personally I believe that the 18th wud be much better for shrimping. The possibility of getting 5 gals on the 18th is 50% better. And I think the members wud like that more than the 1-2 gals they wud get on the 11th. Also take into concideration that I'm 90% accurate with my forecast.

Posts: 1138 02/02/12 01:43 PM Captain USCG Licensed NEW SMYRNA - 11 Limits 2011	no ,no , i understand alabama. it seems weird they plan this on the same day as our seminar, do you know when this tourney date was decided by the folks over at isaa? im sure they knew we were haveing this seminar, as we have planned this date for a month or better as the date was announced 12-17-11. common courtesy goes along way.

So I'm not saying ISAA did this on purpose again, but ISAA tourney director is a member of this board as well, and must have known about this conglict, as well as their officers. Posts: 7778 02/02/12 04:12 PM Captain USCG Licensed NEW SMYRNA DELTONA	Due to the increased pressure on the river this time of year vs. November when I kick off the season folks decided to pull their boats, enjoy the seminar BBQ and go dipping. We were able to cleat up in November and teach 1 on 1 due to hardly any boaters on the river. We are in prime season in February and cleating up is not possible with the boat congestion.... So we decided to create a free shrimping tourney with some prizes and competition. I pulled the permit way back in December at Riverbreeze, I started the sign up a long time ago. I am not an ISAA member and do not know their schedule. I know we have conflicted before last June on the date rendering me down some key folks but what can you do? Our event starts a noon and goes to dark, and if folks launch, need some help, we may try to help if there is NOT a ton of boats, I will never find the members in all the congestion so this us why there is not a hands on Part II of the seminar on the river in February.. So we figured lets make this fun for our group and offer a shrimping tourney. We figured we taught you, we fed you now lets go put it to good use and prize you. We have over 1642+ members, and we will always maximize on our BBQ and seminar get together events. We felt it was time to add some bragging rights to the warriors fighting for the grand prizes. Had I not gotten sick, it would have been announced this tourney more than 10 days ago. We are offering a LEDGreenie Pro Light, we are offering a guided trip with Captain Mike Morris for those that want 6 hours of 1 on 1 instruction with the Captain, and a $50 Visa card for 3rd. Winner can choose between the LEDGreenie Pro Light or the shrimping guided trip with Capt. Mike. The 2nd prize winner gets either the LED if not chosen or the trip if not chosen. Cost: FREE. Now, that I am aware ISAA is doing a shrimping tourney on my seminar day there has been 1 stipulation to our tourney. You cannot participate in this tourney if you are signed up for ISAA tourney. Side pot, winner takes ALL...you will be notified of the pot terms upon return back to port . Optional side pot entry is $5. Cash winner takes all, no split with LeeNoga.com Eleanor and I will be present at the pavillion closest to the bathrooms for check in weigh in, I will give you the time you must return back to port. Give me a day or so. Note: If you have ice cubes mixed in with your shrimp, you have to sort them out before weigh in. I wouldn't say too weird, it is a full moon night, in shrimping season with the tides starting at dark. During shrimping season the ISAA does a monthly tournament. Usually on or around a full or new moon with early tides. I am sure that it wasn't scheduled with any ill intent. Now I just have to decide which one I want to win...oops, Freudian slip... I mean enter...

When I schedule a tournament, I only look at the best Sat. night of the month, not at anything else. It wasn't done on purpose. I have always supported Lee wouldn't do anything to hurt her or this club. What I want the members of both clubs to do is try what you learned. While shrimping watch the semi-pros. See how they setup and there light pattern. Watch where the boat gang up on the river, good spot. Then on the 18th take this info and use it to its best. I expect 3-5 gals out of you.

What kind of boat do you have? I see you're memory is mostly intact..... Right now, just the little 16 footer that no-one has ever seen yet. I bought her last May for almost nothing, and had the 70 HP Johnson running in three days. I have yet to boat a single shrimp in it, though. I still have the aluminum tandem trailer from the SeaRay, but the SeaRay is gone. I am currently looking for her replacement as to an offshore boat. There is a Chris-Craft down in Stuart that has caught my eye.....gotta love Craigslist. I'll take some pics today of the little boat. This is a brand new computer as of a month ago, so there isn't any pictures on it, yet.

Thats fast enuff for me. I get back on my feet I'll take you out. I have a bass seat up front and one in the back. They are nice when it cimes to shrimping. You don't have to stand up to dip. I'd love to go out with you shrimping. But I eed to get rid of this cancer first. Can barely walk.

Very sorry to hear, but even though it's been over a year.....the last I can seem to remember one dips skrimps with their hands - not their feet. I mean, I could be wrong..... My boat has a bow mounted chair as well. I'll try to attach a pic to this post. I've been working on her today. I decided to inspect the other cables (throttle/shift) after completing the steering. BIG MISTAKE. Throttle cable sheath is about to go. Went to West Marine....not in stock. I was told "Friday", by the same guy at the same store that let my standing rigging for my sailboat sit on a shelf for 2 weeks. sigh. Gonna lube that cable and re-install. Please cable....give me just one more week..... Rick/Marsha....I don't drink like I used too. Refuse to when I'm going to be on the road. When I'm home, though...I still drink, but only to excess.
