Winter Flats Fishing Charters
With cold fronts rolling thru every week, the best days will be limited to the couple warm days between fronts. As a cold front comes thru the wind picks up, the temperatures drop and the barometric pressure rises and the fish develope lockjaw. After a couple days of warm-up, the barometer steadies and the fish will start feeding again.
Late morning starts (9 am or later) is common with most fishing guides, and I'm no different. Shrimp will be what big trout, reds and flounder are feeding on instead of bigger baits such as finger mullet, pigfish and pinfish. The water will be clearer and sight fishing will be the best of the year as the fish move into the shallows seeking warmth.
Prices changes (for LeeNoga and ISAA members only):
one person will drop to $95,
two people will still be $150, &
three people will be $200 (three is kinda crowded but do-able).
