My favorite daylight saving time story is about a caller to a rural radio station in Ft.Myers. (it was once rural there) It was a few days after the first daylight savings time change. The caller called a talk radio farm show about his garden. He had noticed that the extra hour of hot afternoon sun was burning his tomatoes. Was it laughed off at once? Nope, instead a suggestion of extra watering and shade cloth was bandied about before someone called in to explain the situation.
