Craig AKA Maverick [Top Gun] was the chase boat and Alan and I were "Team Hammer". These shows are a slew of footage and you never know what will hit the cutting floor. There is not question the hosts enjoyed themselves, we spent a lot of time shooting scenes, re-shooting, re-organizing...and Alan still booted 4 gallons in the cooler.
Having done shoots before, this shoot has some blooper footage which I hope they do not cut out of the show....I had a malfunction on my Shumaker net due to my lack of understanding and 1 day ownership...I never removed the zip tie which allowed the not to close on the pull back...so there was some bad footage banana's. Then the cast net casted off my arm [floating cord thank goodness].....and boy was that a "Oh *&%&*& moment.....ROFL....good news is the cable tie is off, and I need a day of practicing with the net. I cannot wait to master it....
Glen the host and Wes the cameraman shot all kinds of footage, the boys can share in the story telling....Glen and Wes loved playing in the by-catch...
The sizes were mostly mediums...the crowds out there were not bad at all...but there were some boats who wanted to get on camera....
This was an entire show filmed, not a few minute segment....Specialist and ShrimpCraz did great, wish the sun would have come out...and wish we had gotten out earlier...but even tho the SW wind was strong at times...the crew got what they came for, and we no doubt with got our "care to share" message out to the masses. They loved our shirts, they loved our 5 gallon buckets [and asked if we could make them one with their name]. They had great interest in the Ed Shumaker net and really gave Ed some headlining and tons of footage..money could not buy that exposure....
The hosts forgot they were hosts, they had way to much fun playing in the net dumps. They would not cast a net tho'. The shrimp pods were broken up today compared to Saturday.....smaller in size in some areas...still some dinks coming up.
We did not get to play shallows, this was not about chasing the way Alan or Hodgie do it...it was get some shots off time is ticking....CM 50 was not nice today. But 47 was.
Job well done Alan and Craig.
