Everything is now set!

When: Saturday July 23, 2011

Where: Halifax Harbor Marina, Daytona Beach

Schedule of Events:

7:00am        Meet at Halifax Harbor Marina for instruction
(Specialist will teach methods for throwing cast nets, areas to look for shrimp, what to look for on fish finder)
7:30 am        Every one launch boats
11:30am       Everyone recover boats
12:00pm       Time to eat
1:00pm         Captains comments and raffle drawing
1:30pm         Clean up and exit

This year we will not be advertising this event to the general public. The event will be only for our website. Feel free to invite your family and friends that are interested though. I have had some issues with parks and permitting, so for this event we will keep it small and cozy.

Below I have posted pictures of the marina area we will be using. We do not have reservations for any of the pavilions, but I hope to spread out between the different pavilions. I would like for everyone to bring their pop up tents, tables and chairs though. We are going to need them. If anyone wants to cook, please bring your grill or cooker.

Please respond to this post if you plan to attend and tell me what dish you will bring. We'll try to make sure we have everything covered from meats to side dishes to drinks.

I will be there for instruction, and launch. Will have to cut it short, and will not be able to attend the lunch and festivities, as it conflicts with another event. Looking forward to seeing everyone on the 23rd. I amy have a passenger already, but will let you know if I have space available.

I know not everyone needs instruction on how to throw a cast net or how to catch these summer shrimp, but I would hope that some of you would want to come and eat lunch with us. We want to meet as many of you as possible. If you want to, launch at any ramp in the area and come eat with us after you do some shrimping. Or don't bring your boat and just come hang out with us and grab a bite to eat. If you've never come to one of our events before, you don't know what you're missing. We always have a lot of fun with each other.

We will have some of our gear available for sale, and one of my favorites,

a New, Custom Made, 9' Ed Shumaker Cast Net, with webbing sewn in, that we will be raffling off.

Buy a few chances to win this net and you'll also be helping to support this site.

We don't have a fishfinder our tranducer got trashed, how big of a problem will that be?

Lots of folks do this without a fishfinder, all you do is look for the dancing

flotilla of boats and ask if you can cut in Biggrin
