where to get gear? |
Lead | ||
|
I have not seen any gear in the tackle shops around my area. I do travel north to daytona at least once a week to my union hall. Where is a good place to get gear on my way up there? I would like to get everything at one stop if possible.
Also, what is the battery to light ratio?

When you say gear, that was kinda generalized LOL..so let me take a broad stroke approach for ya.
a) Dip Net - Anchor hardware in Oak Hill or Ron sells them out of his house as well. b) Frame Net - Oak Hill Flea Market or you can pick it up in Deltona at Ron's house. His phone is 3-8-6--5-7-4--0-3-8-6 [did it this way so bot's don't get his number and place it on sales call lists]. c) Lights - For now Lagoon Bait in Oak hill 1 block S of Anchor Hardware, or anchor hardware. The battery ratio depends on what lights you buy, if you buy halogen your gonna kill a marine size battery with 2 lights after 5 hours or so. You can use starfires from Walmart [never fire up OUT of water], I am not sure what battery ratio is...if the light is not LED or flourouscent, it is gonna be a battery hog. Professional lights like I have as well as others, come from ISAA club. They build in Sept and distribute in Sept. However, been talking to my friend who is shooting to release LED greenie 11" shrimp lights sometime in March for $100 each or so. Price is not set yet. They are indestructible unless you crush housing under the weight. Technology is LED...I will be loaned an LED for trial this coming week...and I will be able to see how LED fields out compared to flourescent. I believe LED is the way to go....the problem with flourescent is bulb breaks easily. So, I welcome a more resilient light. Call Anchor hardware and Lagoon Bait and see if between the 2 you can 1 stop shop for now...I know when these LED lights come to be in March, folks will want these. LED lights available, click on the shrimp light in my tagline below and head to the on-line store! I personally use these LED lights. The difference between fluorescent and LED is profound, and you will dip more shrimp with LED due to clarity in depth perception. USCG Licensed [OUPV/6 pak] - Captain 100% Disabled Vet E-5/USN Medic

Hi Flatsfishn.....thank you for coming back...
I pour the 8lb pyramid weights. I have (2) left, have a couple of 6 .xx weights, some 5 pounders My fone is: THREE-EIGHT--SIX----FOUR --SEVEN--NINE--FOUR--ONE--SEVEN--FIVE I sell them for $16 each or basically $2 a pound. If you need tonight, I can leave them on my porch...I am heading to New Smyrna to go out tonight, will be home Saturday and may go back to NSB again depending on how we do in stiff winds tonight. Call me. I live in Deltona, off Saxon by I4 exits, I am on Deltona/Orange City line on Saxon. There is a Publix at the Saxon/Finland light, I am 2 turns from that.
