Every issue of the license is for 5 years. So third issue is over 10 years and less than fifteen, after next year it will be my fourth issue i.e. more than 15 less than 20. My uncle was on is 11th issue but due to health reason he could not renew I will let you do the math on that one.
I run a 105 foot harbor tug in Jacksonville, I work for the Company with the big white M on the smoke stack. I have worked on tugboats scince 1995 and have sailed from St Johns New Brunswick to New Orleans and everywhere inbetween. Not to mention my years before in the USCG where I worked in the Bering Sea for three years.
I love to fish and happen to work on the water, I am by no means a guide or wish to be one. I just wrote that to ease any thoughts of anyone else who reads the posts.

I was in the Coast Guard for four years, I served aboard the USCGC Rush and Boutwell, they were both 378 foot cutters. We used to do three month trips in the Bering they were call ALPATs, i.e. Alaskan Patrol. I did 10 ALPATS, some were better than the others all were a learning experince and I am in no rush to head back to Alaska.
I sailed all over the Pacific on the Boutwell, we went to Japan, Guam, Hawaii, Midway, Mexico and everyother place inbetween.
I hope to have some time the weekend of your Seminar and I will head on down your way.
