And a couple worth saying:

ARS = Atlantic Red Snapper.  People began to adopt that abbreviation as not to confuse the 'Red' or Redfish, Red Drum, Channel Bass with it.

Structure = Any type of relief that sits up off the bottom.   Basically stuff that will break you off and cut your line to shreds but areas that hold fish.  Areas that show a 'relief' on a bottom machine have good structure.

Bottom = Dips, nooks, crannies, changes ups and downs, hard to soft back to hard areas of bottom that offer variances for fish to hang out, rapid transitions from deep to shallow would be good bottom (like flounder)

Numbers = G.P.S. numbers and stuff that people will rarely share if they consistently provide good catches of snapper, grouper, etc.offshore.  Best way to get new numbers is to fish with someone who knows them, or go out and explore for them with folks that dont.

Swordfish Belly Contents = Bait that has been re-frozen, and re-frozen and re-frozen beyond what should be humane and acceptable behaviour for any bio-material living or dead

Flying Gaff  = When your experienced, seasoned, expert fishing buddy gaffs a 30+ lbs kingfish (with the only gaff on the boat) and lets go of the gaff and the fish swims off with it firmly embedded in its back. 

Banana or 'Nanner' = When your experienced buddy throws a cast with a castnet as if throwing a cast net for the first time, and barely opening the net, sometimes even tangling it in the process; even though he has been throwing it for 30 years

Doooood = A term of excitement "Doood, I just got hammered by hugggge kingfish"   or it when one loses a fish "Doooood I just got busted off by a doormat, son of a gun wrapped me around structure"  Or when a friend of yours gets a new piece of fishing gear, bottom machine, lights, speargun, etc.  "'Doooood that new St. Croix rod is bad to the bone, holey moley"  or it can also be used to console your feeeshing buddy after he/she loses a very large fish.  "Doooood, there has got to be more out there.  Dooood if there is one, there is more you will get em next time bro!!!" or it can also be used when your experienced buddy firmly embeds a sabiki hook up to the eye of the hook in his finger. "Dooooooood, ummmm that doesnt look good bro."
