"FWC decided Thursday to re-open the recreational harvest of snook on Sept. 17 in Florida Atlantic Ocean waters.  Those fishing on Florida's Gulf coast were not so lucky.  The season will remain closed and will be a strictly catch-and-release fishery until Sept. 1, 2011......"

"......At its meeting in Pensacola Beach, the FWC recieved a staff report regarding the lastest snook information on the status of the snook population, which suggests that snook on Florida's Atlantic coast were less severely impacted by the cold weather than were Gulf Coast snook......."
