I don't know how to explain last night except for the word tough. Tide change was suppose to be around 8:30pm . I got there right at dark.CM8, west side, 9' of water and found zero incoming tide. I mean not enough to even pull my anchor or spin the boat.
There's really 2 parts to last night so I'll split it up from dark to 11pm and 11 pm till 1am
The first half of the night there was not a breath of wind on the water. It was like sitting on a farm pond. The water clarity was crystal clean. It was so clean that i only used one light and i pinned it to the bottom and it was still super bright. The shrimp were real nervous last night and would spook at the least little movement or sound. I dipped most of my shrimp last night on the dark side of the boat as they were hitting my light field and then swimming across my bow to the other side.

Around 11pm the current went from barely moving to a locomotive and clouded up some. I set my other light out and the...

1 1/4 gallon for me.
I launched out of lopez yesterday around 4:30 pm. I set up on the south side of cm 8. The water depth was anywhere between 8-11 feet. It all depended on the wind/current. I could throw the anchor and be anywhere from 6-13feet. So it was a pronounced edge.
At the most I had 7 boats in the area and they were all spread out. Only 2 of us set up on the west side.
Now I want to thank everyone on this site for helping me get ready for these shrimp but you forgot to mention a few things. :)
1- That little bastard is QUICK
2- They Got excellent eyesight
3- They can backflip/or swim outa the net faster than you can pull it out
Once i figured to more or less just let them swim into the net then pull the trigger on em I was OK.
We started out on the west side in front of marker 4. It was pretty good
for alittle while. We were in about 6-8' of water. We launched around
7ish and got all set up and started shrimping close to 7:45. Around nine
when the shrimp seemed to completely stop we went just north of the
boat launch. Got 3 shrimp, woo hoo. Then left and went in front of the 2
story house and got another dozen or so. We left the water at 10:30ish
and we left with a good gallon and a half. Not as many eels last night
and the wind seemed a little calmer to us. We got maybe 60% medium, 30%
large, and 10%small. The LED lights seem to be the way to go. I cheated
kinda and if you go to Home Depot they have a LED drop light for $20.00.
It comes with a wall charger and a cigerette lighter but runs on 12
volts. So I siliconed the conection and ziptied it to a piece of EMT(I
am an electrician so this was cheap and easy for me). Then put it in the
water and it works great. Used it Friday...

short report from fri nite. pretty much as shrimpnfish reported some
here some there.arrived about 7:00 set up and dipped intermittantly.
some large mostly med and no smalls. we were anchored just north of
riverbreeze.we didnt have any green lights so i tried the green plastic
bottle modified to go over one of my starfire lights. [as mentioned by
another member]one light with out the bottle cover (green).seems to me
that more shrimp were caught around the green light than the reg white
light.i recommend this little tip to anyone in a bind. we will evaluate
our booty in the a.m.,but i feel it to be somewhere in the 70/30 med lrg
range. we will def be back sat evening for another chance at paydirt .
right now i need to go see the sandman for a lil shut eye. almost forgot
the qnty was 1.75 to 2 galons for 3/3.5 hrs of good honest fun. go get

From ShrimpNFish:

Aloha all... Capt Lee, you scared me into going out tonight with you
high wind forecast for tomorrow night. And it was just a beautiful
sunset on the lagoon so I thought I might try tonight instead of
tomorrow! I am just back from my trip.

I set anchor about 6:30PM between G9 and G9A on the east side of channel
edge. Water was 57 degrees, with slight chop from the north as the
wind was coming directly from the north at only maybe 5mph or so (not as
bad as I expected) air temp was not too bad either, in the mid 50s.
Water clarity was not great... maybe 3 ft visibility. I shrimped for
about 1.5 hours with "on-off" results... no big vein! So I tried
trolling along the edge north weaving back and forth from the edge of
the channel to the center until I did find a bit more action (maybe not a
true "vein" of marching shrimp, but it had some steady groups that
would come through, so I set up anchor there and set my frame...
