The LED Lil'Greenie lights have some distinct advantages over other type of lights used for underwater lighting, advantages inherent in LED's. The information below was an answer to using a green light film, .on White LED lighting. But the information is relevant to the LED Lil'Greenie, a pure green LED underwater light that is my creation.

A white LED light uses a spectrum of Blue, Green, and Red LED dopants stimulate our eye retina cells of the proper amounts and processing steps to make an equivalent "white" light LED as seen by the human eye, a tri-stimulus condition that our brains integrate into white light.

Each of the 3 LED light components by themselves have a relatively narrow bandwidth. The green color component of the LED white light is the weakest of the 3. A green filter will allow most of the green to pass through, while mostly blocking the red and blue components. Compared to the white light, the amount of green passing the...

I want to show you the "overkill" I deploy on a 17ft skiff to ensure I do NOT slide backwards into other boats. I have had my fair share of sliding and when I deploy a box net, it takes (2) plow anchors to stick [especually around full/new moons]. I set up horizontal in the water, and here are my anchors:

These are my oldest ISAA lights, and I have placed a yardstick to show you the size, over the years the ISAA.CC club has reduced these lights to 18" inch bulbs and 1/2 the diameter and weight. I have minn kota trolling motor plugs on my earlier lights. I have 2 of the new generation ISAA lights and I use 50amp clips.
I have had my fair share of near fatal collisions with barges.

I have had my fair share mishaps [net caught in propeller, anchor line sucked into engine props] Never have fallen overboard tho. LOL

a) Bring a knife
b) Change of clothes
c) Jump cables in case your crank battery fails.
d) Put floaties on the end of your shrimp lights, if your cords go overboard, you can recover lights.
e) Put floaties on anchor lines, if you have to bolt in hurry, you can recover anchor later.
d) Cell phone, let somebody know your out on the river.
e) Highly recommend TOW insurance with BoaUs/or any tow company, have a plan in advance what you will do if your boat breaks down while in water.

Here are my jump cables, NOTE the words saltwater on packaging:

Boats engines are meant to be run run.

I live in Deltona, and doing 60 mile round trip to work the engine is a little costly. My gas mileage plummets during the tow and I calculated it costs me $15
everytime I take the boat to be launched in NSB. Sure, I could launch the boat in a local Deltona lake but I am not sure how good the launch area's are
with all the dirt and mud. Yes, I could go to Sanford but I do not know the waterway, and that puts me off....

So, here is a 100 gallon cow water basin. I built a 7" tall platform [mimic'd a furniture dolly with wheel casters]. A furniture dolly did not get me
7 inches so I made mine out of pressure treated 1x4, cost me about $50. The water basin can be bought at feeds stores or Tractor Supply stores for anywhere
between $80 and up. You can try Craigslist but I have a hydrofoil on my engine and a 55 gallon drum would not work for me.

Running your engine with ears more than 5 mins is NOT a good...

Everybody is curious about the equipment I use when I go shrimping. So I decided to share some pics. My lights are flourescent, and built by the ISAA club
which is a paid membership community in Central Florida. I also use a collapsible frame net with a 15 ft sock and 12lb downrigger ball to keep it open. These
nets beat the hard rigid PVC frame nets and can be bought at Oakhill Flea market for $125. If you tell him Captain Lee sent ya, I bet he will sell ya the frame
net with a discount :-)

The little baby greenies were built in 2009 by a brilliant engineering friend of mine, who has since retired from building these.

I poured the shrimp light weights which are about 8lb pyramids, I had a custom mold made for me to make these weights. I do sell these weights to the Public.
My line connected to my shrimp light is about 17ft long with stainless rings every foot or so, so I can adjust the depth of my lights depending on how deep the
water is I am sitting in. I have...
