Me and the wife were there fishing. Don't know if you heard about the baby Dolphin rescue. Seems some people found a two day old baby dolphin with it's umbilical cord still attached stuck in the roots of mangrove tree. The mother was no where to be found. When we got there some people waist deep in the water near the ramp holding a umbrella over their heads and the baby in their arms. For like two hours. FWC showed up and soon Sea world rescue. The news said the baby dolphin is doing good. God bless The FWC, Sea World and the good Samaritans. Btw the fishing sucked lol

Made the last pull for a few months on the 15th and went out of town so here's the late last post on crabs for a while. I was down to 3 traps on the last pull I would like to think that it's just someone accidentally hit the float ropes and not a trap thief, but still frustrating to loose a trap. I just went out and bought new traps for the next season and plan on putting them in a little less traveled area this next season, anyhoo back to the report. I had a goodly number of crabs in the three remaining traps and after culling out the small claws, no claws, one claws, and the egg bearing females I still had an even dozen claws for the trip home. Had a heart breaking incident when I pulled the last trap, holding on to the outside of the trap was by far the largest stone crab I've ever seen, too large to go through the entrance hole, mine were round at a little less than the legal five inches to be on the safe side the new ones are ovel shaped. Needles to say to save on...

Tried to get away from the bridge but that didn't work. First stop at Sleepy Hollow I found the water three feet higher than usual! And it was low tide. So I headed to the "Last Resort" bridge. Tide was slack low. Couldn't get a hit all the way across and back on the other side. By then the tide was running. What was to be my last cast I hooked a 14" flattie. That made my day! Of course I made a few more casts. Now on to the Drs!
